Since last playing for us in December 2009 TJ Johnson has made four sell-out appearances at Ronnie Scotts and released two excellent albums: Three Teardrops, a collection of heartfelt songs - mainly country music standards and songs penned by TJ - as well as his Iíve Got The World On A String album of mainstream and swing standards.
The music from these new albums plus the varied repertoire that has proved so popular in the past (including New Orleans jazz and rhythm and blues, Duke Ellington compositions, and the bandís excellent instrumentals) surely cannot fail to appeal to a CJC audience.
Full line-up: TJ Johnson Ė vocals and piano, Adrian Cox - saxes and clarinet, Tony Pitt - guitar, Jay Darwish - bass, Mez Clough - drums.
Guest admission £10.
On tenor saxophone, Adrian Cox will be replaced by Al Nicholls the very experienced leader of Blue Harlem, one of the top swing/jump-blues bands on the London scene.
On drums, Mez Clough will be replaced by Shane Forbes best known as the drummer in the young, multi-award winning band, Empirical.
All meetings start at 7.45pm - doors open at 6.30pm
