Tonight is a celebration of the work of Miles Davis: a performance of the bestselling Kind of Blue album that both respects the original while at the same time giving the musicians creative opportunities; new arrangements of such Davis compositions as Milestones and Seven Steps to Heaven; and a new suite, Sketches of Miles, composed by Terry Seabrook on the theme of Miles Davis.

With Terry Seabrook will be CJC favourite Alan Barnes, nationally known drummer Spike Wells, Paul Whitten who has lived and worked in the USA and Hong Kong, and the excellent Graeme Flowers and Ian Price.

Full line-up: Graeme Flowers - trumpet, Alan Barnes - alto and baritone saxes, Ian Price tenor sax, Terry Seabrook - piano, Paul Whitten - bass, Spike Wells - drums.

Changes to line-up: Since writing the above, we are sorry to report that trumpeter Graeme Flowers is unwell and will be replaced by Byron Wallen. Byron, who has previously depped with the band, is described in Jazzwise magazine as: "one of the most innovative, exciting and original trumpet players alive".

Guest admission: 12.

All meetings start at 7.45pm - doors open at 6.30pm
