Dave Stradwick was already a very experienced band leader when he moved down from London in 2000 for 'a quieter life'. Finding that audiences were missing his hot, traditional jazz trumpet, Dave formed the Sussex Jazz Kings, whose popularity quickly grew and has kept him as busy as ever.
Since their last appearance at CJC, Len Baldwin, a superb tailgate-style trombonist with the ability to play very sensitively on ballads, has joined the band.
The band has a repuation for fun but remains serious about playing their music. Their intention is to play to a high standard while, hopefully, sending audiences home 'feeling good'.
In addition to those named above, the line-up includes Bernard Strutt - clarinet, Phil Durell - banjo, John Hall - drums and Peter Clancey string bass and sousaphone.
Guest admission: £9.00
All meetings start at 7.45pm - doors open at 6.30pm
