Mike Piggott Quartet

One of Britainís leading jazz violinists, influenced by Stephane Grappelli, Joe Venuti and Stuff Smith in particular, Mike Piggott began his musical career as a guitarist/ violinist, in reggae, soul and blues bands.

Since then he has worked with many and varied top UK jazz musicians, including guitarists John Etheridge, Gary Potter, and Martin Taylor; pianist Keith Nichols; and violinist, Christian Garrick. Recent jazz festival successes include appearances with US stars Bucky Pizzarelli, Ken Peplowski and Marty Grosz.

Of tonightís musicians, all regular members of Mikeís bands, bassist Pete Morgan last appeared at CJC with Dixieland Express in March 2012, while Rod Brown - drums and Nils Solberg - guitar, were members of Clare Tealís first major band.
