Trumpeter and leader, Dave Stradwick was already a very experienced band leader when he moved down from London in 2000 for a 'quieter life'. Finding that audiences were missing his hot, traditional jazz trumpet, Dave formed the Sussex Jazz Kings, whos popularity quickly grew and has kept him as busy as ever.
Since their last appearance at CJC, Len Bladwin
, a superb tailgate-style trombonist with the ability to play sensitively on ballads, has joined the band.
The band has a reputation for fun but remain serious about playing their music. Their intention is to play to a high standard while, hopefully, sending audiences home 'feeling good'.
With Dave and Len are Bernard Strutt
- clarinet, Phil Durell
- banjo, John Hall
- drums and Pete Clancy
on string bass and sousaphone.
This event is the rearranged 18 January 2013 gig which was cancelled because of adverse weather conditions.
All meetings start at 7.45pm - doors open at 6.30pm
