The Sound of Blue Note is an acclaimed tribute band giving outstanding renditions of the label’s pioneering mix of hard bop genres: jazz, blues, and soul.

The policy of the band is to take the original recordings and play the ensemble passages the same as or very close to original Blue Note versions, but with plenty of scope for improvisation and creativity in the solos.

The band is well-served by its main soloists - pianist Guy Gardner, Terry Quinney on Saxophone and Andy Urquhart trumpet - with Mark Nightingale living up to his reputation with fellow musicians as the finest living trombonist in Britain or Europe or possibly the World!

MUSICIANS: Andy Urquhart – trumpet; Terry Quinney – saxophone; Guy Gardner – piano; Pete Maxfield – bass; Lee Miller – drums; plus Star Guest Mark Nightingale - trombone

Guest Admission: £11.00

All meetings start at 7.45pm - doors open at 6.30pm
