The Condonians are a band of like-minded musicians put together by trombonist Dave Hewett to play in the exciting Dixieland style of the Eddy Condon band which toured the UK in the late '50s.
Everyone concerned has a superb pedigree in this particular genre. Under the able leadership of trumpeter Andy Dickens the programme is drawn from the Eddie Condon repertoire and other HOT bands of the period.
For Dave Hewett think Cutty Cutshall, Lou McGarity and Jack Teagarten with a touch of Trummy Young and Vic Dickenson!
For Andy Dickens hear the influences of Louis Armstrong, Roy Eldridge and Billy Butterfield!
The versatile and talented clarinetist Julian Marc Stringle completes a front line, driven by a swinging rhythm section.
MUSICIANS: Dave Hewett trombone, baritone horn, Andy Dickens - trumpet, flugelhorn, vocals, Julian Marc Stringle clarinet, Tim Huskisson piano, clarinet, Andy Lawrence bass, Rod Brown drums.
All meetings start at 7.45pm - doors open at 6.30pm
