The show, ‘A Tribute To Trad Jazz’ is dedicated to the famous ‘trad boom’ of the late 50s and early 60s. Several recordings of that period (‘Midnight In Moscow’, ‘Whistling Rufus’, ‘Strangers On The Shore’, ‘Bad Penny Blues’) made it into the hit-parade of that time. The Pedigree Jazz Band’s show, presented by Chris Walker and Roger Marks and sponsored by a well-known ale, will feature popular jazz of the period including informative commentary, anecdotes and, of course, humour!
The band appears at the Club after an extensive and well-received UK-wide tour.
Many of the musicians in the band are well known to CJC members having appeared previously in a number of popular traditional-jazz and swing bands.
We anticipate a fun and (for some) nostalgic evening!
Line-up: Roger Marks - trombone, Chris Walker - clarinet, Graham Treverton - trumpet, cornet and vocals, John Noddings - banjo and guitar, Tonny Mann - bass, Colin Larn - drums.
