Gabriel Garrick, son of the late Michael, has brilliantly taken on his father’s mantle playing wonderful, creative jazz across all genres with his bands Expansions, Original Quintet, Swing Standards Septet and the Gabriel Garrick Big Band.
Although comfortable with many jazz styles, on his first visit to CJC he will explore the various fascinating periods of jazz from New Orleans to Mainstream with lots more in between.
To accompany him on this musical journey, Gabriel brings a worthy group of Sussex-based musicians including the ever popular Mark Bassey on trombone - a most recent visitor in his ‘Back to Basie’ band.
Wayne McConnell is a jazz piano tutor at the University of Chichester and a director of the Brighton Jazz School.
Line-up: Gabriel Garrick – trumpet and flugelhorn , Mark Bassey – trombone, Wayne McConnell – Piano, Dan Sheppard – Bass, Milo Fell - Drums
All meetings start at 7.45pm - doors open at 6.30pm
